Privacy policy
What this site collects, which is still very little, and what happens to it — including how our Google Analytics works and how to refuse it.
FreeHost Report is a static informational site. We do not sell your data, and we collect as little of it as we can. This page explains what is collected and why, in plain terms.
What we collect
If you email the desk, we receive your email address and message, and use them only to reply and to correct the site. If you sign up for change alerts, we store your email address to send those alerts and nothing else; you can unsubscribe in one click. We also use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read; the next section sets out exactly what it records and how to refuse it. We do not run advertising trackers.
Google Analytics
Our page-reading statistics come from Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd. For each visit it notes the pages viewed, the referring site, an approximate location at city or country level, the type of device and browser, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We keep advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation switched off, so the data is not used for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Two first-party cookies come with it: _ga and _ga_<ID>, lasting up to two years. They are set only after analytics has been allowed. In Europe — the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — you are asked first through a banner, and nothing reaches Google unless you choose Accept. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default, and you may switch it off at any time. Browsers that send the Global Privacy Control signal are treated as opted out. Whatever you decide is saved in your browser's local storage under the key analytics-consent, not in a cookie.
To revisit that decision, change your analytics choice and the banner will reappear. Google describes its own processing in its privacy policy, and its Google Analytics opt-out add-on works across every site you visit.
Affiliate links and outbound clicks
Some outbound links to paid hosts are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination host and its affiliate network may set cookies to attribute the visit — that processing is governed by their privacy policies, not ours. We explain which links these are in our affiliate disclosure.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it by emailing [email protected]. You can unsubscribe from alerts at any time using the link in every email. Because we hold so little, most requests are simple to honour. This policy may be updated as the site changes, and the date at the foot of the site reflects the last review; this page itself was last updated on 9 October 2026.
